End-of-service provisioning under Article 51
What you will be able to do when you finish: compute an Article 51 gratuity by hand and get the same answer the module does, set the two wage bases correctly and recognise the single misconfiguration that puts a company's statutory ceiling at half its proper height, run and post a monthly end-of-service provision, explain to a finance director why someone with four months' service is already accruing, provision untaken annual leave at the rate the law actually names, and read the end-of-service liability report — including the two sections it refuses to add into the total.
Who this is for. You run payroll or finance for a UAE mainland employer, and you own the number that sits on the balance sheet as end-of-service benefit. This is an Advanced course. It assumes you can read a journal entry and that you have run a payslip batch before. It does not assume you have read the Labour Law.
How to follow along. Every screen named here is in the Odoone HR WPS & End of Service module, under the Employees menu, with the settings on the company form. One thing to know before you start: both provision jobs ship switched off, so installing the module never starts posting entries on its own, and nothing in this course happens until you decide it should. WPS compliance and the SIF file are the other half of the same module and are covered in course 4.4, not here.
